Clearstream

Overview

Clearstream has established a new branch in Dublin to extend its investment funds business to include hedge funds.

Significance

Encompassing ‘alternative funds’ Clearstream can now service the entire range of funds: mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and hedge funds. Set up following a steep increase in client demand for such hedge fund investments, the new service will drive automation of the investment process for hedge funds and make it easier for investors to access this important asset class. Clearstream’s service is wholly complementary to the work done by the many world-class hedge fund administrators based in Dublin.

Clearstream has launched this initiative in collaboration with Centaur Fund Services, an Irish based award winning hedge fund administration business led by executives with extensive experience of the hedge fund marketplace.

Our Role

NovitasFTCL acted as sole advisor to Clearstream.

The project included:
– undertaking a market assessment
– determining the market entry strategy
– identifying Dublin as the optimal location for the service and Centaur as the preferred partner
– negotiating the agreement between the parties
